The Qashqai are Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes living in the region around Shiraz in southwestern Iran. Kilims are flatwoven wool rugs, reversible in use, and characterized by their typical slit weave. This technique creates small slits where the weft threads change colors. Qashqai kilims often display traditional motifs such as rhombuses, squares, stripes, and Caucasian star patterns. Commonly used colors include blue, yellow, red, green, and beige.
