The Shimano XTR SM-RT98 Ice-Tech Rotor features an aluminum spider with a stainless-steel braking surface. The innovative design offers increased cooling and improved performance at a lower weight. Heat generated from braking quickly dissipates allowing for consistent and powerful braking throughout the entire ride. Paired with Ice-Tech pads, braking surface temperature can decrease from 400 to 300 degrees C, increasing all-around performance. The XTR rotor also uses Shimano’s Centerlock design. Those 6 annoying tiny rotor bolts are no longer needed to attach your rotor to the wheel. A simple lock-ring secures the rotor in a matter of seconds. Centerlock rotors must be used with compatible Centerlock hubs.
